Yesterday I spent the most incredible day with amazing #Rowers #Coaches #Volunteers #Supporters Scottish Rowing staff who worked so hard to bring the #ScottishRowingBeachSprintsChamps to #StAndrewsAfter a stunning morning a sea fret came in and sadly on safety grounds the afternoon events had to be cancelled It was a huge stand but the right decision to take and the athletes drawn from Scottish Rowing | Welsh Rowing | British Rowing | Austria | Jersey Rowing were so supportive It is rare I just stop but before I make my journey home I decided to come and walk along the West SandsBeach of Chariots of First fame. So important to sometimes just stop and feel the wind in your hair and the rain or drizzle on your face. I will definitely be back for the next event.

I am very sad to reflect today that if you have a team of male and female coaches or male and female leaders or engineers, scientists, muisicians the majority of people of all sexes still appear to see the man as the one who is better, or more trustworthy, or the one doing all the work. I have experienced this all of my working and sporting life and striven to be the best role model I can be to all genders; BUT I feel I have failed and for that I am truly sorry.The irony is I still feel the greatest predjuduce from Women and Girls. Their affirmation of listening to the male voice over the female voice is still sadly very evident. There are some truly amazing #FemaleCoaches #FemaleLeaders out there across all sports and disciplines, performing at International and Grassroots levels.What more can we do to change the dial for those coming through, so young women and girls see them for the wonderful coaches and leaders they are and stop deferring to the male coach, leader, doctor, engineer first? Any thoughts anyone?
