As someone who sees what a lot of businesses are planning to do before they do it, I think the shift from generic industry leadership to niche expertise is a necessity. I see in business, leaders who are willing to take risks and learn from their mistakes and are driving the most significant transformations in business. They're the ones leading the way. Their approach is what fosters innovation and resilience—essential qualities in a competitive market and we are on board in this fashion.Embracing niche expertise means being adaptable and open to new ideas. It’s about taking calculated risks and viewing failures as learning opportunities. This mindset not only drives personal growth but also propels entire organisations forward, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.Leaders with deep knowledge in specific sectors can provide tailored solutions and anticipate industry challenges more effectively. This specialised approach ensures that businesses stay ahead of the curve, maintaining a competitive edge in their respective fields. What I've gathered over the years (yes maybe a tad mollycolly as it’s my birthday) is that focusing on niche expertise allows for more precise problem-solving and strategic planning. It empowers teams to leverage their unique skills and deliver superior results, ultimately driving business success. Also, as I get older the experience levels increase and I’m in a position to support more niche areas :-)I’m working hard to lead, not just with purpose, but also precision? #Leadership #NicheExpertise #BusinessGrowth

If you need to expand, but also to save time and money, I realised from some of the work that I saw from our GDC last week when I was in India. (In case you were not aware :-) that we can help. Randstad Digital India can support innovation and has built technology to support this; Essentially, IaC automates infrastructure deployment - instead of managing and provisioning your IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage) with manual processes, you use code instead. This code can be version-controlled, tested, and deployed automatically, which means rapid and consistent provisioning of your infrastructure resources.IaC enhances agility, scalability, and reliability while reducing manual errors and accelerating deployment processes. And that means greater cost savings, as well as freeing up your employees for higher-value tasks. This is what we are aspiring to do for our clients. If you need discussions about your infrastructure and maybe a better way of working, please don’t hesitate to reach out and I’ll have our team showcase what they have built and how it may be able to help you. #IaC #ITinfrastructure #Code #Agility FinXL IT Professional Services

The shift towards flexible hybrid work environments is more than just a trend—it's a revolution in how we approach work. As businesses adapt to this new normal - and believe me, they will have to adapt - the ability to seamlessly integrate remote and in-office work has become essential. We understand the challenges and opportunities that come with hybrid work models because that's how we work. We have it down to a fine art. Our delivery-based approach, combined with deep technical expertise, ensures that your IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and agile. We support large corporates in creating effective hybrid strategies that boost productivity and employee satisfaction—from all over the world as I saw last week in our Indian GDC. The key to successful hybrid work lies in flexibility and communication. By leveraging advanced collaboration tools and cloud solutions, we help businesses maintain seamless operations regardless of where their teams are located. Our focus on outcome-based work means we provide more than just IT resources—we deliver strategic solutions that drive success and then enable our team to make decisions, be proactive and continually strive to do the simple things extremely well.#HybridWork #FlexibleWork #ITResources FinXL IT Professional Services Randstad Digital George Lidano

I've been doing this for years - I didn't realise it was a trend! Skills-based hiring is my preferred method for ensuring I get the right people for the project. Of course, my situation is a bit different from the average corporate where our staff actually delivers or works in your team to deliver your work; But I'd still always recommend going for competencies over degrees. A skills-based model means you assign roles and encourage development based on skills fundamental to the product, project, or goal - rather than relying on conventional criteria such as degrees or industry-specific backgrounds. My old mentor Hayden Kelly would say ‘get someone who has been to the coal face’ as experience matters! It sometimes require a bit of a shift in your mindset though. To adapt to fit for purpose delivery and keen costs down we offer multiple strategies eg: we use our associate program (graduates) to upskill supported by our ‘coal face’ seasoned campaigners who guide, manage and oversee. I referred to this on Tuesday in my post about our Associates. At FinXL IT Professional Services we are fit for purpose and able to support whatever delivery is required; we offer hybrid delivery with onshore, nearshore or offshore staff, combining our we use our Australian Government endorsed status to quickly bring in resources from offshore to deliver for both short or long term needs. This on top of the 1300 staff we have currently in Australia and New Zealand who can assist you. Regardless of the challenge you face in delivery, please think about your approach and ‘fit for purpose’ staffing and then get in touch with me or George Lidano Sanjeev Gupta to solution best fit. #SkillsBased #Recruitment #Talent #IT#fitforpurposeITdelivery #hybriddelivery #graduateprogram FinXL IT Professional Services Randstad Digital

"I embrace each failure as a guidepost." That's an interesting way of looking at it and I agree with the author's broader point - that how we deal with failure is more about mindset than anything else. Failure is not an endpoint. It's a 'No through road' sign. Or possibly a 'U-turns permitted'. You will make mistakes in life - let's just accept that, and focus on how to deal with them productively. Analyse what went wrong. Don't assign blame. Embrace change. Learn more. Ask for help. And move on and don’t make the mistake again; learn from it! #Failure #Business #Growth #MentalHealth
