Are you ready for a groundbreaking evolution in NASCAR gaming? NASCAR '25 is set to introduce a significantly upgraded paint booth feature that promises to surpass all prior titles in the series. In a recent discussion, Matt Lewis, a Producer at iRacing, shared intriguing insights about this upcoming innovation that fans have been eagerly anticipating.
With the early access launch of iRacing’s NASCAR console game just around the corner—starting this Friday—enthusiasts are abuzz with curiosity. Yet, many pressing questions remain unanswered. These include inquiries about advanced vehicle setups, specific online play features, and, notably, the enhanced paint booth capabilities.
For avid players, the concept of a paint booth is familiar, and we have learned some intriguing information regarding what iRacing refers to as the "Car Creator." One critical point to note is that players will not have the option to upload and share custom designs, a feature that has been a staple in iRacing's subscription-based online racing simulator but was absent in earlier NASCAR console games.
In the new NASCAR '25, players will have access to a traditional sandbox-style editor for paint schemes. This approach lets users design unique appearances for their cars using basic shapes and logos, much like the features seen in the recent 2021 release, NASCAR 21: Ignition.
While the inability to upload sponsor logos and customized fonts may be disappointing, Producer Matt Lewis is optimistic about the enhancements made to the paint booth functionality. He expressed his belief that the features in NASCAR '25 will be "more advanced than anything they’ve seen in earlier titles, that’s for sure.”
Moreover, Lewis excitedly revealed that players will not only be able to customize their cars but also theme their haulers and pit boxes to reflect their unique paint schemes. “It’s not just about the car itself. Other elements such as pit boxes and haulers can also be coordinated with colors and designs to create a cohesive look,” he explained.
While this development is certainly exciting for fans who value consistency across their racing experience, specific details on how these features will operate remain under wraps. iRacing has yet to release a video or tutorial demonstrating the new Car Creator feature. However, Lewis assured fans that more content is forthcoming, hinting at a reveal shortly before the game launches.
"We haven’t shown any videos on it [Car Creator] yet,” Lewis stated. “We're likely going to do that sometime soon, right before the launch—just to give everyone a better idea of how everything will function.”
