It is said that a woman looks her best when she's wearing a wedding dress. Perhaps, the same could be said of female leads in popular Korean dramas we tune into such as Penthouse, The World of the Married and Start-Up where stars like Kim So-yeon, Kim Hee-ae and Suzy Bae shined brighter in these dreamy, romantic gowns. Ahead, we take a look at our favourite wedding dresses we have seen in K-dramas.

The highly anticipated Korean drama The Penthouse: War in Life 2, or just Penthouse for short, finally got released in February earlier as a continuation of the exciting plotline of season 1. The opening episode did stellarly and achieved ratings as high as 19 percent.

As the show slowly builds towards its climax, we saw Cheon Seo-jin (played by Kim So-yeon) and Joo Dan-tae (played by Um Ki-joon) enter the marriage hall.

The V-neck long-sleeved dress worn by the bride on the wedding day was from Pronovias while the feathered frock worn at the engagement party is from Bridal Kong.

The popular series The World of the Married has concluded but not before it clinched the highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history in 2020. Kim Hee-ae also took home the Best Actress (TV) win at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards for her portrayal of Ji Sun-woo. The show is based on the British series Doctor Foster that delves into the breakdown of a perfect marriage and its spiral into revenge.

In the series, Kim Hee-ae wore a sophisticated boat neckline gown to have wedding photos taken. At 53, Kim Hee-ae shined with nothing but feminine elegance.

Kim Seon-ho was the breakthrough star from the show, whose popularity soared after he played a man who emphasised love and righteousness.

In the finale. Suzy wore a Safiyaa square neck dress with shawl-like sleeves that made the silhouette particularly elegant against her simple bun. Nam Joo-hyuk wore a black Dior woollen tuxedo and exuded a gentlemanly demeanour. Finally, the two wore Chaumet Triomphe de Chaumet platinum wedding rings.

The show was headlined by Park Seo-joon as Lee Young-joon and Park Min-young as Kim Mi-so.
