The Curragh
Friday-Sunday, RTÉ & ITV
The three-day Irish Guineas Festival takes place at The Curragh this weekend. The first classic of the season is the Group One one-mile Irish 2000 Guineas on Saturday, with the Irish 1000 Guineas taking place the following day.
Champions Cup
Saturday, RTÉ, ITV & TNT Sports
The two best club rugby teams in Europe – Leinster and Toulouse – meet this weekend at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. It will be the first time that five-time winners Toulouse and four-time champions Leinster meet in the final game of the tournament, despite the sides, between them, appearing in 14 European Cup finals to date.
English Championship
Sunday, Sky Sports
Known as the richest game in the world, the English Championship play-off decider decides the third, and final, club side that will compete in the English Premier League next season. Apart from the glory of being promoted, the financial implications of winning are enormous, especially from tv deals and sponsorship.
